Siva Vimalachandran has focused on engaging communities and leading visionary projects for 15 years, using strategic planning and process management to navigate complex processes and deliver results. Siva was previously the Executive Director for the YUSC, managing over 250,000 sq/ft of community and commercial space across two buildings at York University. He led the development, design, construction, financing, and operational planning of the award winning $72M New Student Centre at York University from start to finish, ensuring the project was on-time and on-budget.
He has presented at many forums including at the Ontario Architects Association, the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, and at IIDEX, Canada’s national design exhibition. Siva was named by The Peak in 2022 as one of Canada’s emerging leaders in social impact, helping to shape Canada’s economy, culture, and society. He is currently leading the development of the Tamil Community Centre, securing infrastructure funding of $26.3M from the provincial/federal governments and a no-cost long-term land lease from the City of Toronto to address the gap in services available to the Tamil community and benefit the surrounding community.
As Managing Principal of 6 Degrees Consulting, Siva works collaboratively with clients in the public, private and non-profit sectors, using innovative process management methodologies to ensure that objectives are defined and met. He has a keen interest in consulting for impact to help communities build capacity and benefit long-term.
